Becky belongs to that very special class of pure and simple female folksingers, sharing ground with Barbie Sipple, Marj Snyder and Linda Rich. Just as pretty a voice, too: warm, fragile and sensitive, sometimes with a light vibrato mildly suggestive of Joan Baez - a perfect fit for this album’s relaxed outdoor picturesque acoustic setting. Thirteen original songs (eight written or co-written by Becky), plus a cover of ‘Come To The Water’. Typically just strummed or finger-picked acoustic guitar for backing, creating lovely delicate moods within titles like ‘God Gave Me A Light’, ‘I’ve Searched’, ‘Gospel Ship’, ‘Jesus Song’, ‘Children’s Song’ and ‘Now’. Periodic assistance from friends on bass, drums, piano, background vocals and additional guitar. A male singer joins her for ‘Only Word’ and the lively ‘House Song’.
